Post-exposure Prophylaxis (pep) Treatment In India

PEP is a four-week course of three HIV drugs that HIV-negative people take to lower their chance of contracting the virus following a possible HIV exposure. This is not the same as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), which is taking two HIV drugs on a continuous basis, beginning before and ending after an HIV infection. PEP should be started as soon as possible after being exposed to HIV, but no later than 72 hours. The PEP prescription medications must be used on a daily basis for four weeks (28 days).
