Nabakalebara is an important festival in Puri, Odisha state, this unique festival celebrated in the span of 12 or 19 years. The four deities Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan are made from log of woods. Navakalevara falls in the month of Asadha (June-July) when a leap year fall in the same month as per the lunar calendar. The process for the collection of new logs starts from the 10th day of the bright fortnight of Chaitra (March). The first phase of Navakalebar start by appointing of Brahmin pundits a group temple servitors and Daitas by King of Puri considered as the hereditary of king Indradumna. These servitors, who known as the hereditary of Viswavasu Sabar, who was worshiping Neela Madhab at the Neela Kandara. The search of Daru starts after blessings of Maa Mangala of Kakatpur.
