New Delhi: Indian Tourism Day is celebrated on 25th of January every year. It is aimed at increasing awareness about tourism through a range of activities.
Culture heritage tourism is the fastest growing segment within the tourism industry.
“Tourism is increasingly playing a major role in contributing to the overall growth and sustainability of destinations and local communities by creating direct and indirect jobs. It is an important sector in service economy,” said Sandeep Marwah Managing Director of NFTC- National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited while talking to the members of the board.
Tourism brings together people of different culture and regions and foster better mutual understanding. Peace and harmony are the two ingredients for effective and durable tourism. Tourism is the greatest peace movement in the World.
NFTC has created 543 committees in tourism and has written to all the members of the parliament to promote tourism in their own constituency where NFTC is ready to help to its best.
