The institution came into existence in August, 1979 under the auspices of Vokkaligara Sangha, Bangalore. The institute offered the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, Telecommunication, Information Science and Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management.
